"The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will instruct his patients in care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease."
Thomas Edison

A properly functioning nerve system enables the body to reach its fullest potential in restoring and maintaining health, as well as, enhancing all the other areas of life such as job performance, academic excellence, and athletic accomplishment. The purpose of chiropractic care is correction of vertebral subluxation. Chiropractors analyze the spine looking for vertebral subluxation and use specific chiropractic techniques that bring about their correction.
Chiropractic is a natural, conservative, medication-free, and nonsurgical form of healthcare concerned primarily with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders of the Spinal System, and the effects of these disorders on the Nervous System. Chiropractic is based on the premise that the body is capable of achieving and maintaining health through its own natural recuperative powers, provided it receives the necessary health maintenance components, including proper food, water, adequate rest, exercise, clean air, adequate nutrition, and a properly functioning nerve system.
The Chiropractic Techniques that Dr. Diane practices are the traditional hand adjusting methods as well as Thompson Drop, Koren Specific, and Upper Cervical Specific Techniques known as Knee Chest and Toggle Adjusting. Dr. Diane will soon be adding Network Spinal Care to her Chiropractic repertoire. This particular technique greatly expands care options as it has the potential to address some of the more difficult subluxations that may not have responded well to traditional Chiropractic care.
Dr. Diane determines the best method for the care of each individual Patient as well as their preferences of light or heavy force. She discusses the specific care each patient is to receive before care begins as well as the length of time that healing is to be expected. Sometimes simple exercises are suggested to speed up the healing process as well as things to avoid that may hinder care. After all, there is no sense in repeating the trauma or in delaying ones' healing!
Specific supplements may be suggested again to speed the healing of tissues involved. There are minerals and bio-complexes that the musculo-skeletal system requires to function. And the truth is, some of us are lacking those essential nutrients! Regarding this point, Dr. Diane wishes to help people to become as self sufficient as possible - as soon as possible - because that's what healing is really all about!
With all that said, a moment needs to be taken to discuss the care of children and the elderly. The first thing to consider is that a subluxated spine is an unhealthy spine. When there is subluxation - the vertebrae are out of place putting pressure on a nerve(s) and causing interference in the transmission of that nerve - it is vitally important to correct that subluxation so that the body may function properly. Whether old or young, middle-aged, tall, short, and regardless of color, ... subluxations must be corrected in order for the body to heal.
Dr. Diane takes care to screen all Patients so that she is aware of any contraindications to chiropractic care. When adjusting a child or the elderly she used very little force yet removes the subluxation. Thus, no matter the age, Chiropractic care is safe for each Patient!
